Grand Chapter of British Columbia and Yukon
News
Chilliwack Chapter #49 has as a fun emblem "Marvin the Moose". The WM and her husband do lots of moose hunting, hence this fun guy. He was given to her by her daughter Anne Blythe with the idea that Marvin will travel within BC to the various chapters. To get Marvin, one will need to know where he is, so members can go to that chapter to get him. Richmond Chapter #73 was the first to pick up Marvin.
Hopefully, members will email me when they get Marvin. I will post his new location here and then chapters can go get him.
Where is Marvin now? GO GET HIM!!!
From Richmond #73, I travelled to Langley #50 where Worthy Matron Carol Lyle of Friendship #75 in Vancouver picked me up on April 21. It was quite a nice trip - Carol lives in Abbotsford. I will be there until Friendship Chapter #75 has its meeting on May 6. I anticipate a great visit in the Valley and then on to Vancouver. My adventures are really off to a great time. Here is a picture of Carol and I having breakfast. Carol is starting to get use to my high fibre diet. I tell her every morning that it is healthy for her.
I wonder who will adopt me on May 6, 2008.

Our
Installation was well attended, with 118 members and guests present;
the
highlight of the afternoon being, the absolutely beautiful rendition of
”All Through the Night” by our Worthy
Patron’s
daughters. What talent!
On April 16th ninety members
attended our Special Meeting, to hear Sister Donna Galpin’s, most
impressive
lecture on the “Weaving of the Labyrinth,” which by the way, was all
done from
memory. This was followed by a very
humorous
presentation, of a new member’s perception of visiting a Chapter while
on
holiday. Lots of laughter on this
one. Among the
many visitors in attendance that
evening, was our newly appointed Cancer Director, Sister Ruth Foster. I was speaking with Sister Sheppard and she
is making some progress, probably slower than she would like. She is still at daughter Ann’s and looks
forward to seeing us all soon. She’d
been to Langford the previous day and had enjoyed the outing. Sister Martha Behnsen is not all well. We’re thinking of you. Hello
to Sister Bellefeuille. Sorry Bill is not
well. We miss you at Chapter.
Sister Elliot is back at her son’s. Sister
Mallery has had two falls, the last
one resulting in a broken pelvis. She
will remain in
